Back in May, I decided to become a bouquet of flowers for Mother's Day. This lady is based on that inspiration. Her "vase" is full of peonies, roses, and dogwoods which littered the garden. I fell in love with the variety of peonies and roses I saw. Since the dogwoods are small and not as noticeable, I did the base as a dogwood petal.
The soft sculpture is made of fabric, organza, metallic string, yarn, crepe paper, polyester filling, wire, felt, thread, glue, and paint with a wooden machine-carved and hand-painted base. She is roughly 14" tall. She is currently on display at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond, Va. in the library until September 2021.
